1/29/2024 0 Comments Wabi SabiThe term wabi sabi connotes such qualities as impermanence, humility, asymmetry and imperfection. This is diametrically opposed to the Greco Roman ideology of strength, youth and symmetry which the western concept of human beauty is founded.
Even though wabi sabi originates to describe objects, I believe it is an ideal lens to capture the evolution of human beauty as we age. 1/25/2024 0 Comments January 25th, 2024Just as there are different ways of knowing, there are different ways of seeing. My recent trip to Japan reinforced this for me. The Japanese aesthetic of “wabi sabi”, which dates back centuries, resonates with me. The trip to Japan was memorable and inspirational for me. I will share some of drawings I completed recently.
