6/7/2023 0 Comments Doug Doug has had a very accomplished and layered life. At 94 he reflects: "We must reach out to one another in whatever way is possible. Opening our hearts is the beginning of a culture of peace." A great example of some of the important developmental work that can be achieved during the last stage in life. Contrary to popular belief, the last stage may very well be the most important as far as becoming a whole person. Ageing is not linear; it is fluid. When we grow old, we have access to all the selves we have been and experiences we have learned from. We are able to move freely between childhood and every stage in life. The World Health Organization has deemed this is the decade of Healthy Ageing. This week is Seniors Week in Edmonton. There is much to reflect on and celebrate. My project, "Between the Lines" is up at the Woodcroft Library for the summer. Thursday, June 8 from 4-6 p.m. I will be in the program room to talk about the project and engage people in conversation about ageing and ageism. See you there!!!!
